Coachable Moments

When creating a team focus on learning to be a leader that does not need to brunt all of the work, or take credit for success and failures. Learn to set goals and guardrails. Map out and communicate the business strategies to create a shared understanding of the vision. Give a sense of empowerment to people and never forget to reward excellent work.

Create the expectation of phenomenal things from people, and in turn frequently rise to the occasion. When and if there is a mistake, recognize what leaders call a “Coachable Moment.”

Mistakes happen and truly are hidden opportunities. People learn the best when they are thrown into the fire and left to dive in and figure it out. As a leader, there is an obligation to guide the team progressively towards new opportunities. Learn to coach teams through the highs and lows.
