Did you know when your mind gets overwhelmed it becomes stymied?

Do you have a daily routine? If no, Why not?

The way we start our day is most likely how the rest of our day will go. If you are not focused when you wake up, the chances are the rest of your day could turn into a mess filled with distractions and disappointments. If you need help, organize a routine.

C.E.O.’s, star athletes and other successful people alike all go through a prep routine before they start their work. These routines start long before getting to work or taking to the field or court. They follow a righteous routine to get them in the zone.

This readiness prepares us for success, it gives us a pattern to get zoned in to our daily goals. Controlling your focus at the start of each day sharpens your company just as iron sharpens iron. Your mind, body, and spirit need to get in the zone bright and early in the morning. Make the start of your day a success and the end will follow suit. Here are a few routines that you should incorporate to your daily routine to create successful habits that will lead to greater outcomes.

The Body: First thing in the morning, your body needs water, protein, and movement. Your systems need fuel.

Water: Start with a glass of 8 ounces of water. This replenishment is vital. Water covers the board with hydrating your skin, stabilizing your immune system, nourishing your skin; I simply can’t count the ways. I won’t sit here and tell you how much water you need a day but there is a place on the web that will help you calculate it here.

Protein: This needs to be next no matter what. Having protein with breakfast can optimize your brain’s ability to send messages to the rest of your body. This helps you wake up. I recommend combining protein with fibrous leafy greens that will help your body gradually digest your breakfast, fighting off hunger and keeping you energized until lunch.

Exercise: Movement gets the blood going and clears your head. Morning workouts eliminate the groggy feeling we all get around 2-3PM, after lunch. If a 5 AM jog isn’t your thing, try waking up 20 minutes earlier for a quick bedside set of pushups, stretching and meditation. Wake up your body with some movement!

The Mind: Your mind needs focus or you will waste time and energy in the morning and throughout the day. Picking ONE thing to accomplish in the morning will give that boost of self-accomplishment to rev you up for the rest of your day’s plans. Meditate and visualize your to do list being complete.

The Spirit: To get in the zone you must align your core energy and positive emotions, be aware and start your day with being grateful for simply being alive. Acknowledge all that you have, appreciate it. Reflect and be grateful for your family, friends, and networks. Lastly, have a strong faith. Whatever or whomever you believe in is far beside the point, just find that inner connection and nurture it.
