Love Out Loud Poetry Event:

In life I aspire to inspire. To create the mindset that success is attainable for everyone who puts in the effort. One of the greatest ways to inspire is through art.

I was blessed with the opportunity to speak at one of the top 3 highest performing Middle Schools in the district. Achievement Prep Charter School. I came to the school to share poetry and inspiration along with prepare the young poets for an upcoming poetry contest. The poetry playoffs contest will be hosted throughout the DC area for all the local middle schools. This was a challenge I was up for.

We shared a few poems amongst family and friends in attendance. This was a big night for the young scholars and I was excited to be apart of it. After all the scholars read their poems I had the final act on inspiration through art by doing my favorite poem right now titled I won’t give up.(Track 4 off Pieces Of A Poet) Once the winner was determined between the kids, we celebrated with enough cake soda and ice cream to give candy man a sweet tooth. I continue to follow up with the Achievement Prep program and more events to come. Through different organizations who were in attendance that night. Overall a great experience and I can wait to go back.
