Be A Coachable Asset

Be Coachable

A coachable person is non-defensive. Admitting when they are wrong, but they are also willing to learn how to seize the moment the next go around. To be coachable is also to seek knowledge from others around you. One huge takeaway from playing sports all my life was remembering to be coachable. This term molded me in my development as a man. Wade Sr. always taught me to be confident, yet he always reminded me to be coachable. Becoming a student is just as important as becoming the teacher. In order to get to that role one should become a student of game, or student of their career until the desired level of success is reached. Someone just can’t say, be coachable and expect that person to get the picture. Everything is taught and passed along from one person to the next. In this world there are no masters, or Mr. Perfects. So be coachable until your time expires.

Coachable Tips:

Be Wrong: It is not the end of the world if you’re wrong. Nor should you blame others for your mistake. Accept your errors and find a way to fix it.

Never ending quest for knowledge: All the world greats and amazing leaders have a relentless drive to learn new information. These men and women have a passion for bettering themselves. We all can gather information on almost any topic that is at our fingertips with mobile devices and the Internet.

Seek out and find a mentor: You are never too old to have a mentor, every successful person I have researched HAS/HAD A MENTOR. Develop healthy relationships with people who have acquired a high level of skills or attributes in a field that you want to be apart of. If they are willing to share, then be willing to learn. Nobody likes their time being wasted.

Todays Focus: In this world there are no masters, or Mr. Perfects. So be coachable until your time expires.
